Keeping with the tone of weird, this issue definitely delivers, but it also sends home a big message that addresses gender roles and what a world would be like without our strong female role models.

Both Shade and Wonder Woman have fallen victim to Retconn’s milk, but only Shade seems to sense something is not quite right. We watch as she tries to figure out what is going on. What is poetry? What’s up with her favorite show? What is wrong with this world?

The best part of this issue is the fact that you probably won’t like it and will breathe a sigh of relief when the spell is broken. In fact you may even find yourself feeling like you’ve woken up from a spell too. This book opened my eyes and made me think of a quote from Gerard Way,  “Heroes are ordinary people who make themselves extraordinary.”

And you are definitely in for an extraordinary ride with this issue!
