Over the years Gerard has been involved in several other comic book endevors that didn’t warrant an entire section, but we wanted to include them as well. Below is as complete a list as we could gather of the projects Gerard has done in the comics world outside of Young Animal, Umbrella Academy and Killjoys that have been published.

‘On Raven’s Wings’ was Gerard’s very first comic. Only two issues were released through Boneyard Press due to the loss of the art team. Gerard was 16 at the time and used the pen name Garry Way for the release. Gerard has said in recent times that this was heavily inspired by The Crow.

In 2008 a comic collection was released titled Myspace Dark Horse Presents Vol. 1. Within the pages of this trade paperback you could find a “lost” Umbrella Academy chapter written by Gerard that focused on The Kraken.

For his Marvel debut, Gerard wrote #5 of the ‘Edge of Spider-Verse’ series and, in an interview with Marvel.com, had this to say about it: “In a futurist city fairly different from the New York we are familiar with, our version of Spider-Man takes the shape of a government project: SP//dr. SP//dr is comprised of three vital components: a pilot, a machine, and a radioactive sentient spider acting as one half of the brain that makes it all work. Peni Parker is a young girl, who, left parentless, is adopted by her Aunt May and Uncle Ben, the two heads of the SP//dr project. When they realize Peni is the only one who can successfully pair with SP//dr, they make the unorthodox decision to train her as SP//dr’s newest pilot.”

In May of 2014 Gerard did a short Twitter comic that was hosted on talkhouse.com. The story depicted his interpretation of twitter in a comical light using cats. In January of 2015 Gerard created the above variant cover for Shaun Simon’s book, Neverboy. (Be sure to check the unpublished art section of FUN for his WIP posts of this piece.)

Femme Magnifique is an anthology piece put together by Shelly Bond to highlight inspiring women. Gerard worked on a short for the book with Marley Zarcone about Joan of Arc.

Gerard worked with Becky Cloonan on a submission for Mine!. Mine! is a collection of comics to benefit Planned Parenthood.

Gerard added a story to the anthology piece “The Secret Loves of Geeks“. The book is a compilation of stories dealing with, as the description states, “intimate, heartbreaking, and inspiring stories about love, sex and dating.”
