Any new music news will appear here!

Alot happened this week! From CCXP to Press Conferences to new music! Let’s get into it!

Sunday Dec 9th, 2018

We got a new Umbrella Academy poster!

Although they didn’t have any scheduled public events together on this day, Gerard and the cast of Umbrella Academy posed for this picture. We believe they may have been doing press.

At 3pm Brazilian time Gerard did a signing with Gabriel Ba.

And stopped to pose for this pic with a fan after the signing.

Gerard posted about Umbrella Academy being out on Feb 15th (as if we needed to be amped up some more haha)

And his ever amazing little brother posted to let us all know he’s proud!

Monday Dec. 10th, 2018

Umbrella Academy posted this picture on Instagram from Friday.

We also learned that on Friday night there was a taping of a late night talk show called The Noite that aired at 12:45am Tuesday in Brazil.

We knew Gerard was doing interviews on Monday but were shocked when this picture turned up and we were unable to locate a source.

Luckily with the help of our amazing friends at GWayFUN we were able to learn this was from a Press Conference from earlier in the day.

So far the only thing we’ve been able to find from the press conference was this video, but it’s in Portuguese.

And we also got this fun little clip that shows Gerard throwing a donut at the panel on Saturday.

And on a personal note, we posted our recap of CCXP! If you want full details of the con from Friday to Monday just click the link below!

Tuesday Dec. 11th, 2018

The Noite wasted no time getting their video posted of their interview after it had aired.

Also our friends Humbug and Lisa announced their comic, Deathwish, is now available for pre-order and will start shipping on Dec 21st!

Wednesday Dec, 12th, 2018

Gerard updated his instagram story!

Umbrella Academy started releasing a new line of promo posters for the cast of the show!

Gerard had fun with his toys…

But the big news of the day was that Cave Carson has an Interstellar Eye trade paperback was released! Make sure to pick it up the next time you’re out at your local comic book shop!

Thursday Dec. 13th, 2018

We started our day off with the most amazing news! Kristin and Mikey are expecting their second child!

Gerard also got in on the celebration!

Umbrella Academy posted this cool new gif of Hazel and Cha-Cha.

And when they posted it to Instagram, Gerard gave the best reply.

And then, thanks to the pre-order date on the Dasher merch in the G store, we were able to announce first (once it became midnight for one of our staff members, Ally, in Italy) that we were in fact getting the song on Dec. 14th!

A few hours later the ever wonderful Lola came on to confirm this and give us a sneak peak of the lyric video…

…which was followed up with a similar post from Gerard.

Friday Dec. 14th, 2018

As promised at midnight we received the song and the official lyric video (unless you live in the western parts of the US then you got it a little earlier).

After we had all slept, Gerard came around on Instagram to update his Instagram story.

And so did the featured artist on Dasher, Lydia Night!

And Umbrella Academy gave us a new promo photo!

We also held a friendly debate on our twitter asking what everyone thought the lines “She’s got dashes in her stars” means. We got a lot of really thoughtful insightful responses. Totally worth checking out the thread!

We also got a post from Ian Fowles that confirmed he played guitar on Dasher.

And our favorite little brother posted in support of Gerard’s new song!

Saturday Dec. 15th, 2018

And to end the week Gerard updated his instagram story…

…and we found some neat merch at Hot Topic on our Christmas shopping travels.

We hope you all enjoyed this weeks recap and had a lovely week yourselves!

On Nov 15th we got a cryptic message from Lola telling us to be excited for something coming the next day….

We didn’t have to wait long since at the time of Lola’s post it was already hitting midnight in some countries and people were beginning to post about getting it. A quick google search was able to turn up proof that a new song called Getting Down the Germs was on it’s way!

On October 22nd Gerard broke the internet when he posted a small clip of a new song and promised it’s release on October 26th, 2018!

When the song released at midnight on Oct 26th we also received this snazzy lyric video!

And the always helpful Lola was there to make sure we had this handy link to be able to buy the track!

And they also let us know there was new merch that could be picked up in the G store! store.gerardway.com

Once the song was released Gerard took to instagram to let us know a few details about the song, including that Mikey Way played bass.

The song did great! It even reached #4 on iTunes Alternative chart!

And once the lyric video hit over one million views, Gerard celebrated by giving us a little info behind the scenes of the video!

Baby You’re A Haunted House— The lyric video. We hit over one million views so I wanted to take this chance to talk about the lyric video for the song. We wanted to do something a little more special than a standard lyric video for this, so I wrote a brief treatment and sent it over to Devin Sarno (@devinsarno) at Warner Bros Records. Devin has been helping me make videos since I’m Not Ok, when we collaborated with Marc Webb, and has always been so great about making the artist’s vision the most important thing, really helping bring it to life. And I knew I wanted Claire Vogel (@oclaire) to shoot it, as she is a brilliant director. Claire is someone who worked with MCR on the Danger Days videos and I was eager for another chance to work with her. So we sent her the treatment and she went and made it! Gathering all the costumes,  and some friends who knew how to play instruments, she shot the whole thing. It came out even better than it was in my head when Mikey Way gave me the idea. When he was recording bass for the song, he said that he could picture a video like one of those old monster cartoons from the 60’s of musicians toe tapping and Beatle-bopping to the song. And I thought we should make that happen! Albeit, less of a black and white 60’s tv show and more of an old Russian tv show. So there you go. Hope you enjoyed it! #byahh Special thanks to @wbr for giving us a generous budget to make this happen!

All in all a fantastically successful song release and we couldn’t be happier to have this track added to our every playlist! Great song!
